Guest Events Project Management Under New Leadership at Messe Stuttgart

Sonja Scholl Assumes Management Role

Sonja Scholl has been supervising the 12-strong Guest Events Project Management team at Messe Stuttgart for the past 100 days. In doing so, the 32-year-old has assumed management responsibility at a key interface in the growing events segment. Her tasks include developing the Guest Events division in line with market requirements and providing support to important key account customers from the core automotive sector.

Sonja Scholl is part of Messe Stuttgart’s “home-grown talent”. After studying tourism business management at Heilbronn University, her professional development brought her directly to Europe’s most modern trade fair and congress centre. In 2008 she completed an internship in the Guest Events division, where she was then taken on as a project assistant and most recently worked as a senior project manager.

”In Sonja Scholl, an experienced and successful events manager has assumed responsibility for the Project Management team”, affirms a pleased Stefan Lohnert, Division Director Guest Events. “She has extensive experience in the structured organisation and target group-appropriate support of congresses and events, particularly for the high-tech automotive sector.”

Sonja Scholl’s professional development shows that Messe Stuttgart and ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart won’t hold anybody back when it comes to carving out a career. Many management positions are regularly filled by existing staff members. The opportunities for promotion are just like the tasks that the project teams face each day: exciting, international, challenging and stimulating. According to Sonja Scholl: “The key to markets is anything but predictable. The diversity of events and the challenges that these entail never fail to fascinate me.”
